Five tracks that hit us hard. A dedicated Spotify playlist here.
đ Common Goldfish - âShout Louderâ
Being served with the latest offering by London-based creative common goldfish turned out to be both a pleasant surprise and a chance for growth. The former because the track in question is incredibly fresh and so free-flowing, the latter because hearing great music always makes the listeners grow, refining their cultural references and art appreciation. Well, with âShout Louderâ the British artist really hits the spot, balancing a 90â inspired breakbeat/electro-funk production with psych-derived vocals and metaphorical lyricism. (written by)
đ„ Jennifer Stewart - âHard Feelingsâ
Jennifer Stewart really hit the nail on the head with her new song âNo Hard Feelingsâ. I instantly added it to my library: the drive, the good vibes, the contemporary sound. When I listen to this song I feel like Iâm taking a big breath in and running down a hill with my friends.âNo Hard Feelingsâ is a beautiful indie-pop track, written by Jennifer herself with her collaborators Carys Selvey and Mackenzie Jamieson that focuses on the healing process after a breakup; the moment when you finally let go of it with âno hard feelingsâ. đż TAYCE - âNothing Betterâ
After having Introduced herself last year with the slow-paced, poignant gem âwhy itâs endingâ, Chicagoan singer, songwriter and producer TAYCE returned this month with a seven-track EP, a record that explores further into the projectâs aesthetic, offering a glimpse of the artistâs musical vision, and making big promises for her future. Titled âNothing Betterâ, it contains the debut single plus new, original pieces. The overall vibe borders dream pop, blending psych sensibilities with a certain crooner-like vocal quality. đ book NOT brooke - âPopsicleâ
We have done it again⊠Yep, we have discovered another great artist. It does make sense, since book NOT brooke emerges out of Nashville, one of todayâs global music sanctuaries. After having debuted last year with singles and an EP, âEgoic Illusionâ, giving us a glimpse of the artistâs kaleidoscopic aesthetic, book NOT brooke followed up this year with a sultry, soulful gem, âLet Me Roll Itâ, a record that sifted the focus on fuzzy synths and high production values. Well, it doesnât end there, of course. This week, the American talent is back with a new single, âPopsicleâ, a track that sounds as fresh as it is rooted in history: her usual psych sonic universe leaves space to a more rock-infused frameset, inspired by alt-rock, grunge and an underlining folk sensibility. (written by)
đž Marci - âTerminalâ
Marci (Marta Cikojevic) of TOPS releases groovy new single âTerminal,â taken from her new self-titled album due on August 5th. The new single oozes energy, made to be played on a packed dance floor, full of dancing bodies. Opening with a glittery collection of smooth vocals and euphoric sound, Marci showcases her effortless flair from the get-go, and continues throughout the song, with lighthearted lyrics and an electric soundtrack.
